Make-up for Teenagers
Ask any woman about her fondest memories of her mother and nine out of ten times it will be that of her sitting before the dressing table applying make up. Kids watch in awe as a touch of color here and stroke of a brush there almost creates magic by accentuating the best features of a face. It is no wonder that being allowed to wear make up is a symbol of crossing that barrier between childhood and adolescence, and being a step closer to adulthood. However teen skin care requirements are very different from that of mature women. If make up and skin care are not handled well it can actually cause more blemishes and pimples.
Make up for teenagers should be kept minimal , natural and should enhance the features. It should be applied and cleaned off with equal care. There is nothing worse that makeup residue left on over night. Use a mirror that magnifies your image especially when you are cleansing the face or trying to apply a concealer on a blemish. In the teen years the body undergoes drastic hormonal changes that effect the skin and may result in pimples or blemishes. To create the perfect teen look here are some pointers:
- It is a good idea to skip using a foundation that may clog the pores. Instead use an oil free moisturizer before applying a concealer over blemishes to give the skin a smooth feel and look. Then lightly dust on some loose powder to even out the skin, control oil and set the concealer.
- Use eye make-up that complements your eyes and if you are going to involved in sports and outdoor activities ensure that it is water proof. Avoid metallics and sparkles as they tend to flake off into your eyes.
- Apply the blush to the apple of your cheeks and simply blend outwards towards your hairline.
- For the lips, a gloss looks nice or if you are using a lipstick use one in a natural shade. Keep a lip moisturizer that is enriched with the antiseptic qualities of tea tree oil and the softness of beeswax handy. Use one which also protects the lips from the sun’s harsh rays.
When you begin to clean your make up ensure that your hands have been washed with a gentle antiseptic gel that leaves it clean and germ free. Now use a cleanser that is appropriate for your skin to remove the make up, paying special attention to the eyes. Toning will remove any residue. Next use a non-alcoholic toner or better still use cold water. A moisturizer with beeswax will leave your skin pampered and soft. The skin around the eyes is delicate and has no oil or sweat glands. Use a moisturizing eye cream and gently pat it on. Remember to exfoliate your face at least once a week with a scrub or mask that has natural ingredients.
